Getting organize to do Paid Surveys
Sign up for a new email address
Sometimes when you register with a new market research company, you’ll start taking surveys right away. However, the majority of these companies will take a few days to notify you when you’ve been selected to join a particular survey. They usually contact you via email.
Once you get things up and running, you’ll be receiving a ton of emails and I mean like 100 a day or more! So if you want to be better organized, well then… I recommend you sign up for a new email address dedicated to your new survey business. And remember, check it often.
Your Internet Service Provider (AOL, Comcast, NetZero, etc.) should be able to provide you with an additional email address free of charge. If not, you could always use one of the following free email services provided by Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo.
Download Roboform
The one and only aggravating thing about doing paid surveys, focus groups, etc. is registering with all the companies that your interested in. Some companies let you sign-up and take surveys right away, but others require you to “register” and then they contact you about various opportunities as they become available. This can become a very tedious task, a task that you can’t avoid if you want to make money.
Luckily for you and me there’s RoboForm. I highly suggest that you download, install, and familiarize yourself with RoboForm. This piece of FREE software will save you a tremendous amount of time when registering with research companies, filling out forms, or when taking surveys. It will also remember all your login credentials you create for these companies. Download Now or go to RoboForm.com
Unfortunately this software is currently available for Windows only. I’m unaware of a similar program for Macintosh, but if you use a Mac I suggest you use Apple’s Safari web browser since it already has a built-in feature to quickly fill out forms.
Sign up for a PayPal Account
Opening a free PayPal account might be a good idea, if you don’t have one already. This is beneficial to you, as there are a handful of paid survey companies that pay you electronically via Paypal.
Signing-up with Market Research Companies
Note: keep in mind that when I talk about registering with a company, I’m talking about the market research companies that actually conduct surveys and focus groups. They are generally hired by large corporations to do the research on their behalf.
Determining how much you will make
Your not going to get rich quick doing paid surveys, but you ccould easily make an extra few hundred bucks or more per month. How much you make depends on how devoted you are. So if you would like to make just enough money to pay some bills such as a car payment, then you wouldn’t need to register with all the companies in our database. just register with a few at a time when it fits your schedule, and sooner or later you’ll reach your goal.
However, I suggest that you sign up for as many paid survey sites as you think you can handle, and are in line with your preferences and what you know about. Remember you will not get a paid survey from each site every day, so you will want to sign up with several sites to balance out the amount you can earn in a day. You might also want to look for a focus group in your area, as it can lead to being involved in some pretty lucrative projects.
If you only have one hour per week to devote to doing paid surveys that’s fine, just don’t expect to make a ton a cash. Like they say, you’ll get out of this what you put into it. On the bright side, you only have to register with each company once and then they will usually continue sending you surveys for years!
Note: Sign-up with all the paid survey companies in any regional directory that are listed with a # symbol. These market research companies tend to send out more paid surveys per month and pay more per survey.
Your “profile”
When registering with a market research company, you’ll be asked various questions which will make up your personal “profile”. So Be honest, for this is how they match you up with the profiles desired for particular surveys and focus groups.
Also make sure that you fill out any additional profile sections of the paid survey site. This will determine how many surveys you will be sent. The more you have on your profile, the more surveys you will be eligible for. Even if some of the subjects are remotely interesting to you, be sure to include them.
It is very important that you are truthful in all your answers and responses when signing up with the market research companies. Some surveys are very general, but others are very specific. For example, a company may want to get the opinions of women between the ages of 18-25 on various types of eyeliner; If you’re a man, you won’t be selected to participate in this survey.
How lucky you are when it comes to winning prizes and sweepstakes entries
If you only want to participate in surveys and focus groups that pay cash that’s fine - but we suggest you consider those that pay in prizes, sweepstakes entries, etc.
If you have the extra time, it’s well worth it to take a short 2 minute survey and be entered into a $10,000 drawing… wouldn’t you agree? Sometimes the odds are pretty good, and aside from cash, you can win nice electronic equipment, household items, etc.
Plus, it’s important to realize that market research companies change their offerings all the time depending on what kind of research and surveys their clients need.
A company offering prizes this month might offer a $50 paid survey the next month; which is why I highly recommend you register with as many companies as you can, regardless of what they are currently offering. You just never know!
There’s not a whole lot you can do to influence how lucky you’ll be, but just realize that the prizes are often significant and can really make a difference for you.
Note: Some companies will enter you into a contest or sweepstakes when you initially register with them. This is how you build your profile and get started with them. They will often send you “screener” surveys, and then paid surveys will usually follow shortly thereafter.
Get Started
Select your County from the Paid Surveys Directory list located in the upper navigation bar. For a Quick Start, make sure to sign-up with all the companies that start with a # symbol first, then work your way from A to Z.
Note: Check your email often, and act quickly! Market research companies will often send out more invitations than they need participants, knowing some people won’t respond for one reason or another. And once they have enough people, it maybe too late for you
